10-Year-Old 'Mini Medic' Spreads Joy by Teaching Lifesaving CPR Skills!

Meet Jack Dawson, a remarkable 10-year-old paramedic who is spreading joy and knowledge by teaching life-saving skills to others! From a young age, Jack displayed a keen interest in becoming a paramedic, inspired by his grandfather, who runs a first response company in Staffordshire, England. Jack would excitedly accompany him on ambulance rides, captivated by the flashing blue lights.

At just two years old, Jack began his journey into the world of first aid, playfully practicing CPR on his teddy bears. His mother, Danielle, recognized his enthusiasm and decided to teach him essential first aid skills. Jack quickly absorbed everything like a sponge, mastering CPR techniques, recovery positions, and the use of a defibrillator.

By the time he was seven, Jack took the initiative to lead his own workshops, with guidance from his father and other trainers involved with the charity Tamworth Have A Heart. This wonderful organization focuses on making defibrillators accessible to the public and training individuals to use them confidently.

Jack's workshops are a beacon of hope in his community, attracting 20 to 40 participants, and sometimes even larger audiences of up to 100 people. His motto, “If I can save a life, then you can,” resonates with everyone who attends, inspiring them to learn and take action.

During his sessions, Jack provides engaging, step-by-step demonstrations using practice dummies, teaching participants how to perform CPR safely while emphasizing the importance of checking airways. His passion for teaching shines through, and as Danielle shares, “He absolutely loves it. I’ve never seen him so confident, and knowing he’s helping people is incredibly motivating for him.”

Jack's efforts have not gone unnoticed. People are often surprised and impressed by his ability to convey important information, realizing that if a 10-year-old can do it, so can they! Under the moniker “Mini Medic,” Jack has created a YouTube channel and a TikTok page where he shares medical tutorials and training sessions for those who may not be able to attend in person.

Thanks to his dedication to the community, Jack has been recognized as a finalist for the Children of Courage Birmingham Awards. Looking ahead, he is filled with excitement about the future, dreaming of attending university and pursuing a career as a paramedic—an aspiration that fills his heart with joy!

Jack Dawson is truly a shining example of how one young person can make a significant impact on their community, inspiring others to learn, grow, and embrace the goodness of helping one another.
